Matt Porter
CEO & Co-Founder, XtremeX Mining Technology
"We believe XtremeX’s technology will change the way the industry explores for the next generation of Battery and Precious Metals by delivering deeper, more accurate core samples and a greater volume of holes into targets where current technology falls short."

Mr. Porter is an experienced executive with a combination of financial, operations and strategic responsibilities across several oil and gas service lines. Most recently Mr. Porter served as President, CEO and Director of Pioneer Energy Services. He was appointed to this role after the publicly traded company emerged from Chapter 11 restructuring. He successfully optimized the Company through operational efficiencies, technology deployment and service line rationalization. The Company was sold to a larger competitor in October of 2021. Prior to this Mr. Porter served in increasing roles from CFO to President and ultimately CEO at Xtreme Drilling Corp (TSX:XDC), a coiled tubing and contract drilling service provider with global operations. In his role as CEO he led the Company through a significant industry downturn and new strategic path after selling the coiled tubing business to Schlumberger. This included non-core asset disposition and rationalization of fixed overhead and corporate expenses. As part of this the Company focused on technology development which led to the design, construction and commercialization of next generation drilling rigs. This strategy ultimately led to the sale of the drilling business to a strategic acquirer in September of 2018. Prior to his role at Xtreme Mr. Porter served in increasing positions of responsibility from Vice President of Corporate Development to CFO at Bronco Drilling (NASDAQ:BRNC), a provider of contract drilling services. In these roles he led corporate objectives of financial performance, acquisition/divestiture, new market penetration and strategic development. Bronco was sold to a large public E&P Company in June of 2011. Mr. Porter is also a co-founder of ACTIVOS, a strategic consulting firm, which provides expert analysis and consulting services to industrial and oilfield service stakeholders. Prior to entering the oilfield service industry Mr. Porter managed institutional investments. He has his MBA from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma and is a CFA Charterholder.
