  • 2008 — Commercialization of the first electrically-driven coiled tubing drilling units.

  • 2016 — Sale of coiled tubing business (11 Units) to Schlumberger C$205MM.
  • 2018 — Sale of drilling business to Akita Drilling, C$209MM.
  • 2007 — Joint Venture with large mining company to expand CTD technology into the hard rock mining space.
  • 2009-13 — Patent application filed, engineering and design approved, prototype tested and concept proven.

2005—2018: Xtreme Drilling & Coil Services
  • Founder of Xtreme, Wood incorporated automation and electrification into the next generation of drilling and intervention units while expanding into the US market.
2001—2005: Savanna Energy Services
  • As Co-founder of Savannah Energy Services, Wood continued to expand his vision and application of the Hybrid CTD units growing market share to +30% within 3 yrs.
  • Took the company public on TSX in 2003 and reaching peak market cap +$850MM.
1997—2000: Plains Energy Services Ltd.
  • Wood introduced the first shallow gas Hybrid CTD units into the Canadian oil and gas market.
  • Sold the company for $300MM.
